We start by finding where the water is coming from — roof runoff, a neighbor’s grade, a low spot with nowhere to go — and then pick the fix that matches the volume.
A French drain is not just a pipe in a ditch. Without filter fabric, clay silts the stone in and the drain quits working in a couple of seasons. We line the trench, set the pipe in washed stone, wrap it, and backfill so the system keeps taking water years from now.
Most of the drainage calls we take start with water getting into a crawlspace or basement, or a soggy strip along the back of the house that never dries. Moving that water is far cheaper than repairing what it does if you leave it.
